Diwali Wishes Maker: Which Type Suits the Person You Are Wishing
Image editors, video makers, phone apps and interactive pages all call themselves a Diwali wishes maker. Here is what each one actually sends, who it suits, what happens after you press send, and when SubhSandesh's interactive card is the wrong pick.
Make this into a page you can send

or browse all occasionsKey takeaways
- • A Diwali wishes maker produces one of three outputs, a still image, a video file or a link the recipient plays, and the output should follow the recipient rather than the design.
- • Image cards suit long lists: India forwards more messages, photos and videos than any other country, and WhatsApp has capped forwarding at five chats at once since January 2019.
- • People underestimate how much a reach-out is appreciated, most of all from socially distant contacts (Liu et al., JPSP 2023), so a plain image to an old colleague is still worth sending.
- • Across all SubhSandesh templates a shared page averages 11.1 views and 48.3% of views are on a phone (measured 24 September 2026); no Diwali-specific usage data exists yet.
- • SubhSandesh's interactive Diwali card takes about five minutes, holds up to six photos and can be edited after sending at the same link.

Diwali Wishes Maker: Which Type Suits the Person You Are Wishing
A Diwali wishes maker turns your words, a name and perhaps a few photos into a finished greeting, and the type of maker decides more than the design does. An image editor hands you a still picture, a video maker hands you a clip, and an interactive maker hands you a link the other person plays through.
Choose by recipient, not by template. SubhSandesh builds the interactive kind, and across every template on the platform a shared page collects 11.1 views on average, with 48.3% of views (27,725 of 57,456) on a phone, both measured 24 September 2026.
Those are platform-wide figures, not Diwali figures, because the Diwali template is new. Below are the four maker types, a side-by-side table, what changes after you press send, and when each type is the wrong pick.
What is a Diwali wishes maker?
A Diwali wishes maker is a tool that takes your message, the recipient's name and optional photos or music, and produces a Diwali greeting ready to send. What separates one maker from another is the output: a picture file, a video file, or a web link the recipient opens and interacts with.
On 22 October 2026 we checked the ten results Google India returned for "diwali wishes maker". Seven were template editors that produce a card or image, one was an Android app listing, one was a government e-greetings portal and one was a board of image ideas. None of the ten described a greeting the recipient plays through.
Four kinds of Diwali wishes maker, and what each one hands over
Each type is described in the same order: what lands in the chat, who it suits, what it asks of you, and what happens after sending. Brand names are left out because the type decides the outcome, not the logo.
1. Image-template editor
What lands is a still JPG, PNG or printable PDF with your text set into a festive design. It suits the long list: neighbours, the society group, colleagues, the thirty relatives you wish once a year.
It asks for a few minutes per design, and a laptop helps when placing text. Once sent it is a file, so it travels; on WhatsApp anything passed along arrives marked as forwarded, a label WhatsApp added on 10 July 2018 so people can tell whether a friend wrote a message or passed it on.
2. Video maker
What lands is a video file, usually your photos moving over a Diwali track with names in the titles. It suits grandparents and elders who prefer watching to tapping, and family groups where one clip plays for everyone at once.
It asks the most of your time if you pick your own photos, since the clip has to render and download before you can send it. Once sent it is fixed: a spelling mistake means rendering again and sending a second copy.
3. Phone app
What lands is usually the same image or video as the first two types, only made on a phone. It suits people who send greetings for every festival and want them in one place.
It asks for an install and storage, and the one app listing in our ten results declared both ads and in-app purchases. Once sent it behaves like the file it made, because an app changes where you build the greeting, not what the recipient receives.
4. Interactive page maker
What lands is a private link that opens in the browser, where the recipient taps through scenes instead of looking at one picture. It suits one person: a partner, a parent, a sibling, a friend in another city.
It asks for about five minutes and a SubhSandesh account for the sender, while the recipient needs neither an app nor an account. Once sent it can still change: you edit and republish, and the same link shows the new version.
Four maker types side by side
The table compares the four types on what the recipient receives, whether a mistake can be fixed after sending, and one SubhSandesh measurement that bears on each choice. Our figures come from 5,199 pages across every template, measured 24 September 2026.
| Maker type | What the recipient receives | Fix a mistake after sending? | What SubhSandesh data says about it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Image-template editor | One still image or PDF | No, send a corrected copy | 48.3% of our page views are on a phone: design for a small screen, not for print |
| Video maker | One video file | No, render and resend | Median 2.5 hours from first save to last edit on our most-made page: people revise, a sent video cannot |
| Phone app | An image or video made on the phone | No, same as the file it makes | 38.5% of our creators add a password; a forwarded file has no lock |
| Interactive page | A private link with up to 6 photos and music | Yes, republish at the same link | 11.1 average views per page: a link gets opened more than once |
The takeaway: the file-based makers are built to travel, and the link-based one is built to be revisited by one person. Neither is better in general; they answer different lists.
What happens after you press send
A greeting made as an image is designed to be passed on, and India is where that happens most. WhatsApp said in 2018 that people in India forward more messages, photos and videos than any other country, and since January 2019 every user can forward a message to only five chats at once. A card built for forwarding may well reach you again from someone else by Diwali evening.
That is not a reason to skip the simple card. In preregistered experiments published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Liu and colleagues found that people consistently underestimate how much others appreciate being reached out to, and the gap was largest when the contact was surprising or came from someone socially distant. The old colleague who has not heard from you since 2024 will value even a plain image more than you expect.
Closeness changes what effort buys. A 2026 study in the European Journal of Marketing put 257 people in a sender scenario and 257 in a recipient scenario for an online surprise-gift service, and found the gift's emotional value to the recipient depended on how close they were to the sender. For the two or three people closest to you, the format that takes longer to make is where that time pays off.
How the SubhSandesh Diwali wishes maker works
The interactive maker on SubhSandesh runs in six steps and takes about five minutes. You choose who it is for, love, family or a friend, and the default wishes, the blessing and the reply change to match; every line stays editable. You add both names, a tag for the diya, one wish per diya and a letter, or describe the two of you in a few lines and let the AI write it.
Then you upload up to six photos for the sky lanterns and paste a YouTube song with an optional start time, or pick a Diwali favourite such as Aayee Hai Diwali. You set the initials for the rangoli, the word for the sparkler, their favourite sweet and your blessing, then Save to preview, Publish, and send the private link.
What they get is a sequence they play. They light a diya at their door that carries your tag, light a row of diyas that each lift one wish, colour a rangoli until your initials glow, write in the air with a sparkler, and light paper lanterns holding your photos. Then come a playground of anar, chakri, rockets and phuljhadi drawn by the page with no noise or smoke, your letter from a red-and-gold shagun liffafa, and a box of mithai opening onto a Shubh Deepavali card signed by you.
Music starts only after the first diya is lit, the final card saves as a 1080×1920 image, and you can add a password when you publish. Diwali 2027 falls on Friday 29 October, and the evening, as the first diyas are lit, is a good moment to send it. If one person on your list deserves more than a forwardable picture, SubhSandesh's interactive Diwali card with photos and music is built for exactly that one person.
A Diwali wishes maker for a company or a client list
A company sending Diwali wishes to 200 clients needs an image-template editor, not an interactive page. The SubhSandesh Diwali page carries two names, a personal letter and photos for one recipient, so 200 clients would mean 200 separate pages. Forwarding will not carry one image that far either, since WhatsApp caps each forward at five chats.
For the client list, make one branded image with a faith-neutral line such as "Wishing you and your team a bright Deepavali" and send it by email or a broadcast list. Keep the interactive page, in friend mode, for the one mentor whose relationship with you is personal.
When an interactive maker is the wrong choice
Animation is not neutral for everyone. The W3C's guidance on motion triggered by interaction notes that it can set off vestibular reactions such as dizziness, nausea and headaches. The SubhSandesh page reduces motion automatically when a phone asks for less, but if someone has told you animation bothers them, a still image is kinder.
An interactive page is also the wrong tool for an elder who will not tap through eight scenes, for a list longer than a handful of people, and for a sender who does not want to create an account. A video for grandparents, an image for the society group and a diya handed over in person all beat a link in those cases.
Sometimes the photo is the real gift and Diwali is only the date. In that case the photo jigsaw where each placed piece reveals a line of your letter fits better; it is not a Diwali-themed template, and that is the point.
