A photo broken into pieces. Each one placed reveals a line of a letter and plays a note, so the melody assembles as the picture does. The last piece is missing on purpose: they have to ask you for it.

Step 1.1
How many pieces
This is the difficulty dial and the length dial at once — one line of the letter per piece. More pieces means a longer letter and a longer sit.

Each line has to work on its own, out of order, because they will not place the pieces in the order you wrote them.

That is what they see while they wait, and it is the whole design — the puzzle cannot be finished without talking to you.
Be around when you send it. The template deliberately creates a moment that needs you to answer, and it falls flat if the message sits unread for a day.

Why can't they finish it?
The last piece is deliberately not in the box. They see “I have the last piece. Ask me for it.” — the puzzle is designed to require you.
How many pieces should I use?
One line of letter per piece, so the count is really how long you want the letter to be. More pieces is a longer sit.
Do the lines need to be in order?
No, and they will not be. People place pieces in whatever order they manage, so each line has to stand on its own.
Can I change the music?
Yes — there is a preview and a control to tweak the notes yourself.
