Load a vending machine with things you'd never say out loud

A vending machine stocked with eighteen things about them. They pay with a confession rather than a coin, punch a slot code, and watch it drop. One slot is stuck on purpose, and getting it out takes shaking the machine.

    Step by step

    The written walkthrough

Everything the video covers, in a form you can search, scan and keep open in another tab.

    01

    The machine

    Step 1.1

    Name on the front

The placeholder is “AFFECTION DISPENSER”, and the machine wishes them “HAVE A NICE DAY”. Both are yours to change.

    Step 1.2

It makes noise, and it asks first

“This machine makes noise” with SOUND ON and STAY QUIET. Nothing plays uninvited.

    02

    Stocking the slots

    Step 2.1

    A1 is yours

The builder says it outright — the first slot is reserved for you. Tap a slot above to open it, then fill it in.

    Step 2.2

Each slot is a thing, a kind, and a price

The placeholders are “e.g. your terrible laugh” for the item and “What kind of thing is it” for the category, plus what it Costs. The instruction on the body text is the one to follow: “Say the whole thing. This is the bit they keep.”

Half-said is the failure mode here. Eighteen slots of “your smile” is a machine full of nothing; one slot that says the whole sentence is why they keep it.

    Step 2.3

    SOLD OUT and Already gone

Slots can be marked as taken. An empty machine with two things sold out reads as a machine that has been used, which is a nice touch.

    03

    Paying with a confession

    Step 3.1

    INSERT, then CREDIT ACCEPTED

The credit screen asks a question — the placeholder is “ONE THING YOU LOVE ABOUT HIM” — and typing an answer is the coin. ANOTHER QUESTION re-rolls it.

    04

    The slot that jams

    Step 4.1

    OUT OF ORDER, and SHAKE

One item sticks on the way down. They have to SHAKE the machine to free it, and that is the one they remember. Put something good in it.

    05

    Save and share

    Step 5.1

    Publish from the preview

Optional password — “Leave empty for no password.”

    Your turn

About 6 minutes, and it is done.

You do not need an account to start — you are asked to sign in once, at the moment you publish.

    Questions

What people ask about this one

How do they pay for a slot?

With a confession, not a coin. The machine asks a question — “ONE THING YOU LOVE ABOUT HIM” by default — and their answer is the credit. There is an ANOTHER QUESTION control if they want a different one.

One of the slots is stuck.

On purpose. It shows OUT OF ORDER and they have to SHAKE the machine to get it out. It is the most memorable slot in the machine, so put something worth the effort in it.

How much should I write per slot?

The whole thing. The builder's own instruction is “Say the whole thing. This is the bit they keep.” Two-word slots make an empty machine.

    What is slot A1?

Reserved for you — the builder marks it “A1 is yours”.

    Does it play sound automatically?

No. It asks first, with SOUND ON and STAY QUIET.
