- • Propose Day 2027 is Monday 8 February 2027 — the second day of Valentine week, after Rose Day on Sunday 7 February.
- • Valentine week 2027 is eight dated days, 7 to 14 February, and in 2027 it both opens and closes on a Sunday.
- • Propose Day 2026 fell on a Sunday; the 2027 Monday is a working day in India, so the practical build day is Sunday 7 February.
- • The median gap between a page's first save and its last edit is 6.4 hours, sampled on the /love-gf template (n=1,138) — more than a workday evening holds.
- • No peer-reviewed source we could find documents Valentine week's day-by-day structure as a South Asian elaboration; the closest documented parallel is China's 11.11, which PLOS One records was not a holiday before 2009.

Propose Day 2027: What Date It Is and What to Send
Propose Day 2027 falls on Monday 8 February 2027. It is the second day of Valentine week, not the first — Rose Day opens the week on Sunday 7 February 2027, and Valentine's Day closes it on Sunday 14 February 2027.
That weekday is the part worth knowing. Propose Day 2026 landed on a Sunday; 2027 puts it on a working Monday in India, and two numbers from our own database say why that matters.
Across the 4,567 personalised pages created on SubhSandesh since 12 March 2026 — platform-wide, across all 16 page types — the median gap between a page's first save and its last edit is 6.4 hours, sampled on the "I love you" page (n=1,138). And 48.9% of all page views platform-wide happen on a phone.
A working Monday does not hand you six spare hours. It does hand your recipient a phone. Below: the verified date, every dated day of Valentine week 2027 with its weekday, and what actually fits inside a Monday.
What is Propose Day, and why is it on 8 February?
Propose Day is the second day of Valentine's Week, observed in India on 8 February, when people ask someone out or reaffirm an existing commitment. Because it is pinned to a calendar date rather than to a weekday, its day of the week moves every year.
It fell on a Saturday in 2025 and a Sunday in 2026. It falls on a Monday in 2027 and will fall on a Tuesday in 2028.
Being fixed to a date is not the same as being old. Historian Lisa Bitel of USC records that several St Valentines died on 14 February — two executed under the Roman emperor Claudius Gothicus in 269–270 AD — and that the romantic association appeared "more than a thousand years after the martyrs' death", when Chaucer tied the February feast to the mating of birds in his Parlement of Foules. The date came first. The meaning was attached to it afterwards.
Valentine week 2027: every dated day with its weekday
Valentine week 2027 runs from Sunday 7 February to Sunday 14 February. Note that this is eight dated days, not seven — "Valentine week" is a name, not an arithmetic claim, and the run opens and closes on a Sunday in 2027.
- Sunday 7 February 2027 — Rose Day
- Monday 8 February 2027 — Propose Day
- Tuesday 9 February 2027 — Chocolate Day
- Wednesday 10 February 2027 — Teddy Day
- Thursday 11 February 2027 — Promise Day
- Friday 12 February 2027 — Hug Day
- Saturday 13 February 2027 — Kiss Day
- Sunday 14 February 2027 — Valentine's Day
Every weekday above was computed three ways before it was published here: the system date utility against the IANA time-zone database, Sakamoto's day-of-week congruence, and an independent date-object check. All three agree.
Why a Monday Propose Day is harder than a Sunday one
The 2027 Monday narrows the usable window rather than the occasion. Offices and colleges are open, so the two windows that survive are before roughly 9 am and after roughly 7 pm — and the 6.4-hour median build time we measure on the "I love you" page (n=1,138) does not fit inside either of them.
The practical consequence is that Sunday 7 February 2027 is the build day and Monday 8 February is the send day. This is the single planning point that a year-stamped 2025 or 2026 page cannot give you, because in both of those years the day itself was a weekend.
One honest caution against over-reading this. In a study of the ritual year in Vilnius and Sofia based on fieldwork carried out between 2012 and 2019, the ethnologist Žilvytis Šaknys concluded that a day off "does not guarantee" a holiday's popularity, finding little correlation between the two. A working Monday is a scheduling problem, not a reason to expect a quieter Propose Day.
Four things that actually fit into Monday 8 February 2027
Each option below is described the same way: what it is, who it suits, when to start it, and what it asks of the person receiving it.
1. A proposal scrapbook page with a YES button
A page that walks through your story and ends on a YES button that grows every time they dodge it. It suits someone genuinely asking to marry, where the ask deserves more than a message. Start it on Sunday 7 February, given the 6.4-hour median first-save-to-last-edit gap sampled on the "I love you" page. It asks the recipient for a tap, nothing installed — which matters when 48.9% of views platform-wide are on a phone. Our proposal scrapbook page is built for exactly this.
2. A recorded voice note sent before 9 am
Thirty to ninety seconds of your actual voice, sent before the working day starts. It suits couples who are already together and do not want ceremony. Start it Sunday night so you are not recording in a stairwell on Monday morning. It asks for headphones and two minutes of privacy, which is a real cost on a workday.
3. An "I love you" page that does not ask a question
A page that says how you feel and makes no demand. It suits the large share of Propose Day traffic that is not a marriage proposal at all. Start it Sunday; the same 6.4-hour median applies, since that figure is sampled on this exact template (n=1,138). It asks for nothing back, which is why it works when the answer is not certain — the romantic "I love you" page is the honest choice here.
4. An in-person ask, with the link as the record
You ask on Monday evening in person and send the page afterwards as the keepsake. It suits couples in the same city where a link alone would feel thin. Build it Sunday and lock it: 39.9% of creators on SubhSandesh password-protect a page before sharing it (1,822 of 4,567, platform-wide). It asks them to open it later, on their own time.
Which format survives a working Monday
Three routes, compared on what each costs you before it can be sent. The last column is SubhSandesh's own data, all of it platform-wide across 16 page types.
| Route for Monday 8 Feb 2027 | Time needed before sending | Where it lands | First-party signal (SubhSandesh, platform-wide) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Built page, sent as a link | Start Sunday 7 Feb; 6.4 h median first-save-to-last-edit, sampled on /love-gf, n=1,138 | Phone, opened from a chat link | 92.7% of started pages are published and shared (4,234 of 4,567) |
| Page built Sunday, locked, shared face to face | The same 6.4 h, plus a shared moment on Monday evening | Phone, unlocked together | 39.9% of creators password-protect before sharing (1,822 of 4,567) |
| Message typed on the day | 5–20 minutes on Monday morning | Phone, inside the chat thread | 48.9% of views are on a phone (25,167 of 51,504) |
The takeaway is narrow and practical: anything you want to build has to be started on Sunday 7 February 2027, and anything started on Monday morning has to be something you can type.
When a proposal page is the wrong choice
Most Propose Day searches are not marriage proposals, and sending a "Will you marry me?" scrapbook to someone you have been seeing for five weeks is a misread of the day. If you are asking someone to be your girlfriend or boyfriend, the romantic "I love you" page says the thing without the escalation — and it is the most-created template on the platform, at 1,138 pages, 24.9% of everything made since 12 March 2026.
If you are asking someone out rather than proposing anything, neither fits. The closest honest option is the invitation page, which is an invitation they answer, not a declaration they receive.
And there are cases where none of this is right. If the person has no smartphone, a link is worse than a letter. If you are in the same room on Monday evening, say it out loud; the page is the record afterwards, not the ask itself.
What the research does and does not say about Valentine week
Here is a finding rather than a citation. We could not locate a single peer-reviewed source documenting Valentine week's day-by-day structure — Rose, Propose, Chocolate, Teddy, Promise, Hug, Kiss — as a South Asian elaboration on Valentine's Day. Searches through Crossref and the Directory of Open Access Journals for Valentine week seven days India, Valentine's Day India cultural globalization, invented tradition holiday calendar and calendar custom AND festival returned nothing on the eight-day sequence. If you see a page asserting a documented origin for it, ask for the source.
What is documented is the closest parallel. China's Singles Day sits on 11 November because four digit ones suggest being unattached, and as a 2025 PLOS One study of 686 participants records, it "was not a traditional, official, or even popular holiday" before Alibaba built the 11.11 shopping festival in 2009. The study's "cultural cues" dimension is precisely the effect of an annual fixed date: participants treat it as a special day with things that must be done, and prepare in advance.
That is also how invented traditions work generally. In a 2012 study of Thai tree ordination, Avery Morrow argues that an invented ritual takes hold by borrowing "familiar forms" rather than by arguing a principle — a named day on a calendar being about as familiar a form as exists.
