Key takeaways

  • Propose Day 2027 is Monday 8 February — the second day of Valentine week, after Rose Day on Sunday 7 February and before Valentine's Day on Sunday 14 February.
  • Use তুমি (tumi) for a girlfriend. তুই reads as either deep closeness or plain rudeness depending on how you already speak, and আপনি reads as cold.
  • Keep it to two or three lines: 199 women interviewed across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh in a SOUPS 2018 study reported phones routinely borrowed and monitored by family.
  • 39.9% of SubhSandesh creators password-protect a page before sharing it — 1,822 of 4,567 pages, measured platform-wide across 16 page types on 2026-09-17.
  • West Bengal writes সঙ্গে and সন্ধেবেলা where Bangladesh writes সাথে and সন্ধ্যাবেলা, and বাবু means a partner in Kolkata but a small child in Dhaka.

Propose Day Wishes for Girlfriend Bangla: Lines You Can Send

Propose Day 2027 is Monday 8 February — the second day of Valentine week, not the first. (Rose Day is Sunday 7 February, Valentine's Day Sunday 14 February; weekdays checked against the 2027 calendar.) For a girlfriend: write in তুমি, keep it to two or three lines, and send it where only she will open it. That last part is measurable. Across SubhSandesh's 4,567 personalised pages, built since 2026-03-12 across 16 page types platform-wide, 39.9% of creators password-protect the page before sharing it — 1,822 of 4,567, measured 2026-09-17. Below: 13 lines in Bengali script with Roman transliteration and an English gloss, the pronoun rule underneath them, and what to do about the hour after you press send.

What Propose Day is in Bengali, and when it falls in 2027

Propose Day is the day of Valentine week for saying it out loud — in Bengali প্রপোজ ডে, or more traditionally প্রেম নিবেদনের দিন (prem nibedoner din, "the day of offering love"). It sits between Rose Day and Chocolate Day, and in 2027 it is Monday 8 February.

The weekday matters. Propose Day 2026 fell on a Sunday; 2027 puts it on a working Monday, so the in-person window is a lunch break or an evening, and most of what gets sent will be typed.

Why the pronoun decides whether the line lands

Bengali makes you pick a second person before you say anything. তুমি (tumi) is the default for a girlfriend: affectionate, equal, unmarked. তুই (tui) belongs to people who grew up in the same lane; between a couple it reads as either deep closeness or plain rudeness, depending on whether you already speak that way. আপনি (apni) is respectful, and in a love note it lands like a letter from a bank.

The rule is one line: send তুমি unless she already says তুই to you. The pronoun arrives before the sentiment does, so Monday 8 February 2027 is the wrong day to switch register for the first time.

If তুই genuinely is how you two talk, this one is safe:

এতদিন বলিনি, আজ বলছি — তোকে ছাড়া কিছু ভাবতেই পারি না। Etodin bolini, aaj bolchi — toke chhara kichu bhabtei pari na. "I never said it all this time. I am saying it today — I cannot imagine anything without you."

Two spellings place you regionally, and neither is wrong: West Bengal writes সঙ্গে (shonge, "with") and সন্ধেবেলা (shondhebela, "in the evening"), Bangladesh more often সাথে (shathe) and সন্ধ্যাবেলা (shondhyabela). One endearment actually differs in meaning — বাবু (babu) is an ordinary pet name for a partner in Kolkata, but in Dhaka it usually means a small child. Use সোনা (shona) instead if she is Bangladeshi.

12 Propose Day wishes for your girlfriend in Bangla

Every line below uses তুমি: Bengali script, then Roman transliteration for typing, then the English sense.

First time you are asking her

Aaj Propose Day, ar ami ar lukote parchi na — ami tomake bhalobashi. "It's Propose Day, and I can't hide it any longer — I love you."

Onek din dhore ekta kotha bolbo bolbo kore bola hoyni — tumi ki amar hobe? "For a long time I kept meaning to say something and never did — will you be mine?"

Bhoy pacchi, tobu bolchi — ami tomar shonge thakte chai. "I'm frightened, but I'm saying it anyway — I want to be with you."

When you are already together

Aaj abar propose korchi, karon uttorta abar shunte icche korche. "I'm proposing again today, because I want to hear the answer again."

Tin bochor hoye gelo, ar aajo tomar naam dekhle phonta taratari tuli. "Three years, and I still pick up the phone faster when I see your name." (Change the number.)

Roj shokale thik kori aaj kichu bolbo na, ar roj shondhebela tomakei shob bole feli. "Every morning I decide I'll say nothing today, and every evening I tell you everything."

Short enough to survive someone else reading it

Shubho Propose Day. Tumi amar shobcheye bhalo khobor. "Happy Propose Day. You are my best news."

Bhalo theko. Ami achi. "Be well. I'm here."

When you are in different cities

Durottota manchitre, amar mone noy. "The distance is on the map, not in my head."

Jedin dekha hobe, prothom kothata etai bolbo — bhalobashi. "The day we meet, this is the first thing I'll say — I love you."

For the long-distance case, the Train Ticket long-distance page makes the gap itself the message.

When you are not sure she is ready

Tara nei. Shudhu janiye rakhlam, ami opekkha korte jani. "No hurry. I'm only letting you know that I know how to wait."

Uttor aaj-i dite hobe na. Kothata shudhu tomar kache pouche dilam. "You don't have to answer today. I only wanted the words to reach you."

How long is too long, and where to send it

Two or three lines. A Bengali love note rarely has an audience of exactly one, and length is what makes it unreadable in front of other people.

In a SOUPS 2018 study of 199 women across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, Sambasivan and colleagues found participants' phones were routinely borrowed and monitored by husbands, brothers, parents and children, and that the women answered with performative privacy practices, app locks and content deletion among them. A three-line message closes in one swipe; nine paragraphs do not.

Senders also guess the audience badly. Litt and Hargittai's diary study of 119 adults and 1,200 social network posts found people imagine either a very broad abstract audience or a narrow specific one — and on a Story that guess is wrong, because her cousins are in it. What each channel costs you:

Where you send itWho else can realistically see itLength that worksSubhSandesh signal
WhatsApp or Instagram DMher, plus whoever picks up an unlocked phone2–3 lines39.9% of creators platform-wide lock a page before sharing
Instagram Storyevery follower, family included1 line, no names48.9% of views platform-wide are on a phone
Public post or tagged photoeveryone, permanentlyher name and nothing else
A private link she opens aloneonly whoever holds the linkas long as you like6.4h median first-save-to-last-edit, sampled on /love-gf, n=1,138

The last row is the honest argument for a page over a text: a link is the only channel that does not punish length. That 6.4-hour median from first save to last edit, sampled on the "I love you" page (/love-gf) with n=1,138, says it plainer than the research does — nobody writes these in one sitting. If you are sending "I love you" rather than "marry me", the I love you page for a girlfriend is the better fit, and the most-created thing on the platform at 1,138 pages, 24.9% of everything built.

One caveat, from us rather than found later: these templates are English-language. Paste a Bangla line into the message fields and it renders, but the buttons and headings around it stay in English.

What to do if she doesn't reply for an hour

Nothing. Send once, then leave it.

Following up backfires because the first message already moved a private thing into a space she shares with other people. Ameli and colleagues' 2025 interview study of 47 people in Iran — spouses, informants and couple therapists — describes a liquid privacy in which the boundary between "mine" and "ours" is renegotiated rather than fixed. A second message an hour later is you redrawing that boundary alone.

A slow reply has a plain cause that is not the answer, too: how visible she wants the relationship to be may not match how visible you want it. In a study of 139 Facebook-using couples aged 17 to 30, Bouchard, Harrigan and Tobin found relational commitment predicted desired relationship visibility, which predicted what people actually displayed.

If you sent it as a Story, expect a different reception again. A 2024 diary study of 1,270 Instagram posts and Stories reported that channel ephemerality predicted a less close imagined audience, while imagined closeness tracked with intimate disclosure — a Story is the wrong shape for the most intimate line you own.

When a Bangla wishes page is the wrong choice

Three cases, honestly.

If you are actually asking her to marry you, a wishes list is the wrong artefact. That job wants a scrapbook of the two of you ending in a question, which is what the Will You Marry Me proposal page is built for, YES button and all. Propose Day lines ask her to be with you, not to sign anything.

If she is standing in front of you on 8 February, say it out loud. A link sent from the same room is worse than the same words spoken badly.

And if she does not read Bengali script comfortably — common for readers in Bengaluru, Dubai or London — send the transliteration only. A line she must decode is a line she reads late.

Frequently Asked Questions

8 February. In 2027 Rose Day falls on Sunday 7 February and Propose Day on Monday 8 February, the second day of Valentine week. If a list you are copying from gives 7 February, it has handed you Rose Day.
তুমি, unless she already says তুই to you. তুই signals the closeness of people who grew up together and can read as rough if that is not already how you speak. আপনি is respectful and reads as cold in a love note.
"ভালো থেকো। আমি আছি।" (Bhalo theko. Ami achi — "Be well. I'm here.") It is complete, affectionate and explains nothing if someone else reads it over her shoulder.
Two or three lines. A short message can be closed in one swipe; a long one cannot. Research on shared phones in South Asia documents that women's devices are routinely borrowed and monitored by family, which is what makes length risky rather than romantic.
Yes, and you should if she does not read Bengali script comfortably — a common case for readers who grew up in Bengaluru, Dubai or London. Every line on this page carries a Roman transliteration you can copy as-is.
The date is the same, the Bengali differs slightly. West Bengal writes সঙ্গে and সন্ধেবেলা where Bangladesh more often writes সাথে and সন্ধ্যাবেলা, and বাবু is a partner's pet name in Kolkata but usually means a small child in Dhaka.
Proposing again is the honest frame: "আজ আবার প্রপোজ করছি, কারণ উত্তরটা আবার শুনতে ইচ্ছে করছে" (Aaj abar propose korchi… — "I'm proposing again today, because I want to hear the answer again"). It works because it assumes the yes rather than asking for it.
No. Send once and leave it. A second message an hour later redraws a shared boundary on your own, and a slow reply often reflects how visible she wants the relationship to be rather than how she feels.
No. Every line here is written originally for this page. Modern Bengali song lyrics and poetry are under copyright, so reproducing them on a wishes page is not something we will do.
You can put Bengali text into the message fields and it renders correctly, but the templates themselves are English-language — buttons, prompts and headings stay in English. That is the honest limit today.
Usually the "I love you" page (/love-gf), the most-created template on the platform at 1,138 pages and 24.9% of everything built. The proposal scrapbook (/proposal) is for an actual marriage proposal, which Propose Day usually is not.
Yes. Propose Day 2026 was a Sunday; 2027 puts it on a working Monday, so the in-person window is a lunch break or an evening and most of what gets sent that day will be typed rather than said.
