Propose Day Kab Hai: सोमवार, 8 फ़रवरी 2027 (Monday)
प्रपोज़ डे सोमवार, 8 फ़रवरी 2027 को है — propose ḍe somvār, 8 farvarī 2027 ko hai — "Propose Day is on Monday, 8 February 2027."
It is the second of Valentine week's eight dated days, not the first: Rose Day opens the week on Sunday 7 February 2027, and Valentine's Day closes it on Sunday 14 February 2027.
The weekday is the part worth knowing. Propose Day 2026 fell on a Sunday; 2027 lands on a working Monday, and two numbers from SubhSandesh's own database say what that changes. Across the 5,148 personalised pages created since 12 March 2026 — platform-wide, across all 21 page types — 48.3% of views arrive on a phone, 27,499 of 56,886.
Below: the date in both scripts, the whole week with its Hindi weekday names, whether the date can move, and why this question gets asked in Hindi at all.
What Propose Day is, and what it is not
Propose Day is the second day of Valentine week, the 7–14 February sequence in which each date carries a name. It is a dated convention — not a religious observance, not a gazetted holiday, and not fixed by any lunar reckoning.
Two things it is not. In ordinary Indian usage propose karna means asking someone to be your girlfriend or boyfriend, not asking them to marry you — the sibling page on what "propose karna" means in Hindi covers that. And it is not the opening day; Rose Day is.
I could not establish when or where the day-by-day naming of Valentine week began. Two searches across Crossref and Europe PMC — "Valentine week invented tradition South Asia day by day structure" and "Rose Day Propose Day Valentine week India origin study" — returned nothing about the practice, and two earlier batches in this cluster reported the same absence. Treat any page that states an origin confidently as unsourced.
People type propose day kab hai and four close variants, and they are not the same question. Each entry gives the Hindi form, the answer, what sits behind it, and what it changes.
— "When is Propose Day?"
(propose ḍe kab hai?) Behind it: the bare date, wanted in the first line. What it changes: nothing yet. This is the lookup; every other question starts once it is answered.
— "When does Propose Day come round?"
(propose ḍe kab ātā hai?) Answer: यह तारीख़ हर साल नहीं बदलती — yah tārīḵẖ har sāl nahīṁ badaltī, "this date does not change from year to year." It is always 8 February. Behind it: a reasonable Indian assumption. Holi, Diwali and Raksha Bandhan all move, being set by the Hindu lunisolar calendar, not a Gregorian date. What it changes: you can plan 2028 today. Only the weekday moves.
— "On what date is it?"
(propose ḍe kis tārīḵẖ ko hai?), and colloquially kitne tarikh ko. Answer: 8 फ़रवरी — the eighth. Rose Day is 7 फ़रवरी, Valentine's Day 14 फ़रवरी. Behind it: a check against something half-remembered from last February. What it changes: it settles the ordering. Propose Day is day two of eight, and Rose Day has already gone.
— "Is it a holiday that day?"
(kyā us din chuṭṭī hai?) Answer: नहीं. 8 फ़रवरी 2027 को काम का दिन है — 8 farvarī 2027 ko kām kā din hai, "8 February 2027 is a working day." It is not a gazetted holiday in any year. Behind it: 2026 में प्रपोज़ डे रविवार को था — in 2026 it fell on a Sunday, so last year's plan assumed an open day. What it changes: the timing.
— "When are Rose Day and Valentine's Day?"
(roz ḍe aur vailenṭāins ḍe kab haiṁ?) Behind it: the week is the real unit; nobody plans one day of it alone. What it changes: both anchors fall on Sundays in 2027, and Propose Day is the workday between them.
2027 — all eight dated days
Seven to fourteen February inclusive is eight days, not seven. Weekday names come from Unicode CLDR's hi-IN locale, and every weekday was checked four ways: BSD date, cal, Zeller's congruence written from scratch, and ICU 77.1.
- 7 Feb 2027 — रविवार (ravivār), Sunday — Rose Day
- 8 Feb 2027 — सोमवार (somvār), Monday — Propose Day
- 9 Feb 2027 — मंगलवार (maṅgalvār), Tuesday — Chocolate Day
- 10 Feb 2027 — बुधवार (budhvār), Wednesday — Teddy Day
- 11 Feb 2027 — गुरुवार (guruvār), Thursday — Promise Day
- 12 Feb 2027 — शुक्रवार (śukravār), Friday — Hug Day
- 13 Feb 2027 — शनिवार (śanivār), Saturday — Kiss Day
- 14 Feb 2027 — रविवार (ravivār), Sunday — Valentine's Day
The English-language calendar page for the same week is at Propose Day 2027.
One disclosure: सोमवार is not itself a McGregor headword. McGregor gives सोम sense 5 as "Monday", and CLDR gives सोमवार for hi-IN — that is the evidence, on a page whose whole job is being right about a date.
Which page matches the ask on a working Monday
The platform's own creation mix is the closest thing to evidence about what this traffic wants, and it does not point at marriage. All figures below are platform-wide across 21 page types, measured 2026-09-24.
| Page | The ask it actually makes | Pages created, of 5,148 | Share of all pages |
|---|---|---|---|
"I love you" page (/love-gf) | be my girlfriend or boyfriend | 1,178 | 22.9% |
Apology dashboard (/apology-dashboard) | I am sorry | 1,375 | 26.7% |
Digital bouquet (/bouquet-gf) | flowers, without words | 1,178 | 22.9% |
Will You Marry Me? (/proposal) | marriage | no separate figure published | — |
The takeaway is the empty cell. No proposal-specific figure exists — that read is refused by this machine's production-read policy — so nobody, us included, can tell you how proposal pages behave. What the mix does show is that the "I love you" ask is the busiest romantic thing built here, and it is the most-viewed template at 16,998 views, 29.9% of all page views.
So the proposal scrapbook, which ends in a YES button that grows every time they dodge it, is right only if you genuinely mean marriage. For most of this traffic the honest alternative is the romantic "I love you" page, because it makes the ask Indian usage actually intends. If the Monday problem is time rather than words, the invitation page turns a yes into a countdown and unlocks the plan on the day.
Why a Hindi question about an English day is a separate question
This keyword exists because someone typed a Hindi question about an occasion with an English name. That is code-mixing inside a query — documented behaviour, not a quirk.
A 2026 study in the Journal of Medical Internet Research annotated 4,161 real questions collected in an underserved community in urban Mumbai, all in code-mixed Hinglish, and found that language models capture broad topical intent but fail on euphemism, colloquial phrasing and locally situated questions. The mixed form is not marginal either: a 2024 study in Humanities & Social Sciences Communications measured the Hinglish population on Twitter growing from 2014 to 2022 at an annualised 1.2%, with Hinglish usage rising about 2% a year.
Which language a query gets typed in is measurable too. A 2007 study used a 20% sample of Google queries from 227 nations and found a strong preference for the local language: for "avian flu", only 1% of searches from non-English-speaking nations were in English, while for "tuberculosis" and "schizophrenia" the English share ran between roughly 4% and 40%. That reading is old and search has changed since, but the direction it measured is the direction this keyword points in.
And the preference survives when the English version is right there. A 2025 study in JMIR Formative Research put seventeen paired epilepsy videos on YouTube, identical content in English and Spanish; over two years the Spanish set drew 11,339 views against the English set's 3,366. Same content, two languages, more than three to one.
When an English-language page is the wrong thing to send
Here is where SubhSandesh loses. Every template named on this page is English-language. You can put your own words in, but the furniture — buttons, labels, prompts — is English. If you searched in Hindi because Hindi is what you and the recipient actually use, a page that answers in English is a compromise, and you should know that before building one.
Two more cases where the answer is not a link. If you will be in the same room on Monday evening, say it in the room. And if it will be read on a laptop in an open-plan office, remember that 48.3% of views here land on a phone, platform-wide; this is built for a handset in a pocket.
One planning number, labelled honestly: the median gap between a page's first save and its last edit is 2.2 hours, sampled on the apology dashboard, n=1,375. That is a per-template figure, not a proposal figure.

Every publisher page above refused this machine's fetcher, so only the abstracts were read, via the Europe PMC and DOAJ APIs. Hindi was checked against McGregor and Platts at the Digital Dictionaries of South Asia, and weekday and month names against Unicode CLDR. It was not reviewed by a native speaker.
