Propose Day Quotes in Marathi for Monday 8 February 2027
Propose Day 2027 falls on Monday 8 February, the second day of Valentine week — Rose Day opens it on Sunday 7 February, Valentine's Day closes it on Sunday 14 February. Below are 19 propose day quotes in Marathi, in Devanagari, each with a Roman transliteration and an English meaning, grouped by who you are asking. The delivery numbers here are SubhSandesh's own, platform-wide across all 16 page types: 4,567 personalised pages built since 12 March 2026, 92.7% of them published and shared (4,234 of 4,567), and 48.9% of views landing on a phone (25,167 of 51,504). Check the weekday before planning — Propose Day 2026 fell on a Sunday, so last year's plan assumes a clear weekend day that 2027 does not give you.
Why Marathi and "Hindi in Devanagari" are not the same thing
Marathi and Hindi share a script, not a grammar. The Marathi copula runs आहे / आहेस / आहोत where Hindi runs है / हो / हैं; the dative is मला and तुला, not मुझे and तुम्हें; and there is no तुम at all — the second person is तू or तुम्ही, with nothing between.
Vocabulary splits too: प्रेम not प्यार, आयुष्य not ज़िंदगी, नाव not नाम, गोष्ट not बात, हो not हाँ, लग्न not शादी. A Marathi reader spots a Hindi sentence in Devanagari in the time it takes to read it, and that is the one mistake you cannot walk back on 8 February.
The sharpest test is आवडणे. "I like you" is मला तू आवडतेस — literally "you are liked to me" — and no Hindi sentence has that shape. Every line below carries at least one construction of that kind and was screened against a blocklist of Hindi-only forms.

Gender changes the line from the inside. A man says करतो, सांगतोय, बघतो, गोंधळलो, कंटाळलो; a woman says करते, सांगतेय, बघते, गोंधळले, कंटाळले. Addressed to a woman a line ends आवडतेस or हवी आहेस; to a man, आवडतोस or हवा आहेस. Thirteen further lines were written and dropped: two leaned on film-song phrasing, three used imagery that could not be verified as natural Marathi rather than translated Hindi, one hinged on the ambiguous आपण, and seven went for length.
1. For a first ask, in the तू register
Your eyes stop my words. Today, though, I am going to speak.
I am not asking for much — only your company, day after day.
Every moment spent with you makes me want to live it again.
I want to hide nothing from you, so this first: I love you.
2. For a marriage proposal, where the word is लग्न
Will you walk with me for a lifetime? The rest we divide between us.
I do not want a grand wedding. I only want you.
I am asking permission to put my name after yours.
Marriage is a big decision. About you I was never once in doubt.
āpaṇ doghaṁ miḷūn ek ghar ubhaṁ karū — tyā gharāchaṁ pahilaṁ vākya tūch asśīl. We two will build a home, and you will be its first sentence.
3. For a partner you have already been with for years
All these years, and your name still moves something in my chest.
I know your habits by heart and am still not bored. That is my answer.
There will be quarrels and sulks. I am not letting go of your hand.
4. For someone you have not told yet
आता ऐक: मला तू आवडतेस. he sāngāyalā malā khūp veḷ lāgalā. ātā aik: malā tū āvaḍtes. This took me a long time to say. Now listen: I like you.
I am asking nervously, but I cannot bear to leave it unasked.
5. For the तुम्ही register — formal, respectful, or a first meeting
If you say yes, I will plan the rest of my life alongside you.
My case, in short: I want to make a life with you.
6. Short lines for a card, a status or a page's last screen
You are my easiest decision.
Say yes. I will handle the rest.
Nothing passes agreeably without you. करमणे has no one-word Hindi equivalent.
Where a Marathi line actually lands, and who else reads it
All four routes take Devanagari; they differ in audience. The first-party column is platform-wide across all 16 page types — there is no proposal-specific figure, because a read-only probe of the proposal pages collection was refused.
| Where the line goes | Devanagari support | Who can read it | SubhSandesh first-party signal |
|---|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp or SMS | Native on Android and iOS | One person | Not measured — outside SubhSandesh |
| Instagram story | Native, but the app picks the font | Every follower | Not measured — outside SubhSandesh |
| A SubhSandesh page you share | You paste the Devanagari in | Anyone with the link | 48.9% of views are on a phone (25,167 of 51,504), platform-wide |
| A SubhSandesh page you lock | Same | Only who gets the password | 39.9% of creators lock before sharing (1,822 of 4,567), platform-wide |
The choice is about audience, not typography. If you would not want a follower list reading the line, the locked page is the only one of the four giving you that control — and the Will You Marry Me? proposal scrapbook is the page built for the ask itself, ending on a YES button that grows every time they dodge it. Budget real time: the median gap from first save to last edit is 6.4 hours, sampled on the "I love you" page (/love-gf), n=1,138.
When /proposal is the wrong page for your Propose Day line
Most Propose Day traffic is not a marriage proposal, and /proposal is built for "will you marry me" specifically. If you mean "will you be my girlfriend", the romantic 'I love you' page is the honest fit — the most-built page on the platform at 1,138 pages, 24.9% of everything created, and the most-viewed at 16,362 views, 31.8% of all views. If you are asking someone out rather than proposing, The Invitation fits better: a yes there becomes a countdown, not a commitment.
The second limit matters more here. The templates are English-language. You can type, paste and display Marathi in Devanagari in the fields you fill — your line, the names, the captions — but the interface, the buttons and the built-in copy are English, and there is no Marathi UI. If you want every word including the chrome in Marathi, SubhSandesh cannot give you that today, and a plain WhatsApp message serves you better.
Why good Marathi writing is scarce online in the first place
The supply gap is documented, not anecdotal. The 2022 paper introducing L3Cube-MahaCorpus, a Marathi corpus of 24.8 million sentences and 289 million tokens scraped from internet sources, states plainly that "Marathi is a popular language in India but still lacks these resources".
That is not a Marathi-only problem, but Marathi is squarely inside it. The Internet Policy Review entry on digitally-disadvantaged languages (11 April 2022) names Marathi among the languages written in Devanagari and cites Kornai's estimate that at most 5% of the world's 7,000-plus languages will reach "digital vitality".
Demand runs the other way. The KPMG–Google study Indian Languages — Defining India's Internet (April 2017) counted 89 million primary Marathi speakers in India in 2016, and an Indian-language internet user base of 234 million at the end of that year — up at a 41% compound rate since 2011, already larger than the English-language base. A large audience, a thin shelf.
The thinness is recent, not inherent: Pär Eliasson's 2025 survey of early modern missionary dictionaries of Konkani and Marathi records Marathi dictionaries compiled in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries — four centuries of separate lexicography, for a language a generative tool will still hand you in Hindi.
