🕰️ Product guide
Both write predictions, seal them, and open it in a year
The two of you write predictions about the next year without seeing each other's. It seals. A year later you crack it open together, judge every one, and a scorecard says who was Most Confidently Wrong — and what the loser owes.
Step by step
The written walkthrough
Everything the video covers, in a form you can search, scan and keep open in another tab.
Writing the predictions
Step 1.1
You write blind
The prompt is “what do you think happens?” and neither of you sees the other's answers until it opens. That is the whole mechanism, and it only works if you actually do it separately.
Step 1.2
The wildcard
There is a WILDCARD slot — the one prediction that is allowed to be absurd.
Step 1.3
The stake
THE STAKE asks “what does the loser owe?”. Agree it before you seal, because you cannot change it afterwards.
The seal
Step 2.1
SEALED is a real state
Once sealed the predictions are not readable. The page keeps a line about “right now” and a city so that opening it a year later has some context to land against.
The wait
Step 3.1
It counts down for a year
There is nothing to do in between, which is the point. This is the one template on the site whose payoff is deliberately a year away.
Save the link somewhere that will survive a year — a chat you both keep, or a calendar entry on the open date. A capsule nobody can find is a capsule nobody opens.
Opening it
Step 4.1
You judge every prediction together
It shows WRITTEN A YEAR AGO next to THEN, and you rule on each one.
Step 4.2
The scorecard
THE SCORECARD names MOST CONFIDENTLY WRONG. That title, rather than the score, is what people remember.
Your turn
About 4 minutes, and it is done.
You do not need an account to start — you are asked to sign in once, at the moment you publish.
Open CapsuleQuestions
What people ask about this one
Can we see each other's predictions before it opens?
No, and that is the design — you both write blind. It only works if you genuinely fill it in separately.
What is the stake?
What the loser owes. Agree it before sealing; it is fixed once the capsule is closed.
How do we make sure we actually open it?
Put the link somewhere that survives a year — a pinned chat, or a calendar entry on the open date. There is nothing to do in the meantime, so it is easy to lose.
What happens at the end?
You judge every prediction together and get a scorecard, including the Most Confidently Wrong award.
