- • Propose Day 2027 falls on Monday 8 February, the second day of Valentine week — Rose Day is Sunday 7 February, Valentine's Day is Sunday 14 February.
- • A wish is addressed and sent, so the register comes first: तू for a partner or a friend your own age, तुम्ही for a spouse in a traditional household, a colleague or a group.
- • 39.9% of SubhSandesh creators put a password on a page before sharing it (1,822 of 4,567, platform-wide across all 16 page types), which makes discretion the norm rather than an edge case.
- • In Pune district, about one-third of urban 15–24-year-olds reported having made or received a proposal of romantic partnership, in a setting researchers describe as one where such relationships are usually carried on secretly (2007).
- • For a friend or a colleague no SubhSandesh template fits — send the Marathi line as plain text in the chat you already have.

Propose Day Wishes in Marathi, Sorted by तू or तुम्ही
Propose Day 2027 falls on Monday 8 February, the second day of Valentine week — Rose Day is Sunday 7 February, Valentine's Day is Sunday 14 February. The Propose Day wishes in Marathi below are sorted by register — तू or तुम्ही — and then by how private the screen each one is read on, every line with a Roman transliteration and an English meaning. Who else can see that screen is not a small question: across the 4,567 personalised pages SubhSandesh creators have built since 12 March 2026 — platform-wide, across all 16 page types — 39.9% put a password on the page before sharing it (1,822 of 4,567), and 48.9% of the 51,504 views recorded platform-wide landed on a phone (25,167).
When is Propose Day 2027, and why the Monday changes things
Propose Day 2027 is Monday 8 February. Valentine week opens the day before on Rose Day, Sunday 7 February 2027, and closes on Valentine's Day, Sunday 14 February 2027.
In 2026 Propose Day fell on a Sunday, which is why so much circulating advice assumes an open afternoon. A Monday gives you none, and several Marathi pages ranking for this query still carry 2025 or 2026 in their titles.
So the wish goes out before 10am or after 7pm, on a phone, in a chat window — not read aloud across a table.
What makes a wish Marathi, and not Hindi written in Devanagari
A Marathi wish is not a Hindi wish in the same script. Marathi uses आहे / आहेस / आहात where Hindi uses है and हैं, माझा / माझी / माझं where Hindi uses मेरा, and तू / तुम्ही where Hindi uses तुम and आप — each with its own verb endings.
The clearest tell is the verb for loving. Marathi says तुझ्यावर प्रेम आहे, love on you; Hindi says तुमसे प्यार है. A line built on the Hindi frame is spotted instantly.
Vocabulary gives it away too: आयुष्य, not ज़िंदगी; धावपळ, not भागदौड़; नशीब, not किस्मत. Marathi has been recorded as a distinct language for centuries: Pär Eliasson's 2025 survey in Orientalia Suecana catalogues Marathi and Konkani dictionary manuscripts compiled by European lexicographers in the 1500s and 1600s.
Two variables change nearly every line below: the gender of the person you write to (म्हणालीस to a woman, म्हणालास to a man) and your own (विचारतो if male, विचारते if female). Swap before sending.
12 Marathi Propose Day wishes, sorted by register and by screen
Twelve, not a hundred and one. The four तू groups come first, most private screen to least; the two तुम्ही groups follow.
1. तू — a chat only they open: the ask itself
Tujhya sobatit majha pratyek divas sundar hoto. Ajpasun kayamchi majhi hoshil ka? "Every day turns out beautiful in your company. From today, will you be mine for good?"
Shabda kami padtayat, mhanun thet vicharto — majhyasobat ayushya kadhayla tayar ahes ka? "Words are falling short, so I'll ask straight: are you ready to spend a life with me?"
2. तू — a chat only they open: not said yet
Tula sangaycha hota, pan dhir hot navhata. Aj sangun takto — tu mala khup avadtes. "I've meant to tell you but couldn't find the nerve. Today I'll just say it: I like you, a lot."
Uttar kahihi aso, apli maitri tashich rahil. Evadha sangun mag vicharto. "Whatever the answer, our friendship stays as it is. I'm saying that first, then asking."
3. तू — a screen in another city: long distance
Antar ahe, pan mana lamb nahit. Aj evadhach vicharto — vat baghshil na? "There is distance, but our hearts are not far apart. Today I ask only this: will you wait?"
Roj bolto, tari ek vakya rahunach jata. Aj te lihun pathavto — tujhyavar khup prem ahe. "We talk every day, and still one sentence goes unsaid. Today I'm writing it down and sending it: I love you very much."
4. तू — a chat you then leave alone: asking again
Magchya veli nahi mhanalis, tyacha rag nahi. Tu anandat ahes, evadha pure. "You said no last time, and I hold nothing against it. That you are happy is enough."
Ghai nako. Tayar asshil tevha sang — mi ithech ahe. "No rush. Tell me when you're ready. I'm right here."
5. तुम्ही — a phone the household picks up: husband or wife
Itaki varsha jhali, tari tumchyakade baghitla ki pahilya divsasarkha vatata. Propose Day-chya shubhechchha. "So many years gone, and still one look at you feels like the first day. Happy Propose Day."
Rojchya dhavpalit sangaycha rahun jata — tumhi ahat mhanun ya gharala gharpan ahe. "In the daily rush it goes unsaid: this house feels like a home because you are in it."
6. तुम्ही or तू — a chat anyone can screenshot: friend or colleague
तू for a friend your own age; तुम्ही for a colleague or a group.
Propose Day fakta premasathi nahi. Tujhyasarkha mitra milala, hech majha nashib. "Propose Day is not only for romance. Getting a friend like you is my good fortune."
Ajchya divshi ekach sangavasa vatata — tumchi sath ashich rahu dya. "Today I want to say one thing: let your companionship stay exactly as it is."
Which way of sending it fits which recipient
This compares how a Marathi wish travels, against the privacy you control.
| How you send it | Who it fits | Privacy you control | SubhSandesh platform-wide figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plain text in an existing chat | A friend, colleague or group | None; stays in chat history, forwardable | Not measured — no page created |
| A shareable personalised page | A partner you want to show something | A password, set before you share the link | 39.9% of creators set one (1,822 of 4,567) |
| A handwritten note on paper | Someone in the same room | Complete | Nothing digital exists to measure |
Two of the three rows are unflattering to us; a page earns its place only when there's something to show.
Sending it quietly, because in Maharashtra that is a real constraint
This is the part wishes pages skip. In a community study of 15–24-year-olds in urban and rural Pune district, about one-third of urban young people and one-fourth of rural ones reported having made or received a proposal of romantic partnership; 24% of urban young men and 8% of urban young women had ever had a romantic partner, against 17% and 5% rurally.
The authors call Pune a traditional setting where such relationships "are usually carried on secretly", and found strict parental supervision made no difference to whether young people entered one. The paper is from 2007; the proportions are dated, the social shape is not. The same programme published a Maharashtra brief on romance before marriage in 2008.
Family is not the only reader. Parul Bhandari's 2017 New Delhi fieldwork — 100 in-depth interviews with 24–31-year-olds plus about 25 parents — found partners routinely checking each other's messages, email and whereabouts, with submitting to it read as proof of intimacy rather than control. A Propose Day wish is not sent into an empty room.
The week itself is contested. Hindu nationalist groups mount public actions against Valentine's Day most years; a 14 February 2026 analysis records a campus incident in Indore that day. That does not make a Marathi line risky to send; it makes the medium a choice rather than a default.
That is where a lockable page earns its place. The proposal scrapbook page walks your story to a YES button that grows every time the reader dodges it, and locking one does not stop people sending it: platform-wide, 92.7% of started pages get shared.
If you are not asking anyone to marry you, the I love you page is the honest alternative: a declaration rather than a question, and the template the platform's median 6.4-hour first-save-to-last-edit gap was sampled on (n=1,138). For a friend, a colleague or a group, neither is right — send the Marathi line as plain text in the chat you already have, and send no link. You can check the full template list first.
One limit, plainly: every template's wording, prompts and buttons are in English. The page displays the Devanagari you type exactly as entered, but a Marathi reader gets no Marathi interface.
When a Marathi wish, or a page, is the wrong choice
If the person is in the same room, say the line out loud and send nothing. Speech carries the register a screen flattens.
If they read Roman faster than Devanagari — common among Marathi speakers who type in Roman — send the transliteration instead, or both.
If they do not use a smartphone, a link is the wrong object: 48.9% of the 51,504 views recorded platform-wide were on a phone, which describes the format's assumptions, not a recommendation.
And if nobody in either family knows, be clear what a password does: it stops a casual opener, not your recipient forwarding the link. A handwritten Marathi note leaves no copy anywhere, and SubhSandesh has no data on those at all.
